Work With Me
My philosophy for improving your wellness is to foster a team approach where we work together to devise a plan that meets your needs and your goals. Collaborating is important as it allows you the opportunity to be an active participant in the change process. I utilize the following to assist with addressing and working through emotional blocks and patterns that are limiting personal success.
Polyvagal Theory
Polyvagal theory is incorporated into therapy so clients can begin to understand the role of their autonomic nervous system in regulating emotional responses and social engagement. This framework is used to guide evidence-based interventions that promote self-regulation and safety, particularly in clients who have experienced trauma. By recognizing the unique interplay between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system in response to certain stressors, we can work together to tailor the specific pathway to fostering a sense of calm, connection, and resilience.
EMDR and Brainspotting (BSP)
I utilize EMDR and BSP to help clients break through self-limiting patterns using these evidence-based tools that address both conscious thought patterns and deeper protective mechanisms we develop over time. Through these therapies, we can identify and transform barriers - whether they manifest as visible thought patterns or emotional responses - into more empowering ways of living. This integrative approach helps create lasting change by working with both your analytical mind and your body's natural capacity for healing.
From Inner Conflict to Inner Alliance
We all carry different aspects within ourselves that emerge to help us navigate life's challenges. These parts often take on protective roles, stepping in when we feel vulnerable or threatened. Rather than viewing these aspects as problems to overcome, I help clients develop genuine compassion and understanding for these protective parts. Through this gentle, accepting approach, we can create space for these parts to relax their protective stance, allowing for deeper healing and more authentic self-expression.
Interpersonal/Solution-Focused Therapy
While understanding our protective patterns is essential, lasting change often requires concrete skills development. I help clients build practical tools for effective communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving. Through active practice and support, clients learn to express needs clearly, listen deeply, and navigate challenging situations with confidence. These interpersonal skills complement the deeper therapeutic work, creating a comprehensive approach to personal growth and relationship enhancement.
